Why Should I Join?

The WCVA is one of the most active, if not the most active of the regional divisions.

We run a comprehensive CPD program through the year with topics appealing to all branches of the profession. We try to run our meetings in such a way as to cover costs only; any surplus is used to support minority meetings and some committee expenses.

The WCVA hold three committee meetings every year, these immediately precede the BVA council meetings. WCVA committee is asked to discuss current issues and report back to BVA via the BVA representative on WCVA council; this is an important way in which grass roots opinion can be formulated and passed on to a national agenda. All members are free to attend council meetings and we are always keen to encourage new council members. At present we have committee members who are active in all areas of clinical practice; DEFRA, RCVS and Young Vet Network.

Membership, although it enables you to attend our great value CPD program, is not all about work. WCVA is an excellent way to meet colleagues from the local area in an informal environment. There are also social events throughout the year for members and their families.

Can I Join?

The WCVA is the regional branch of the British Veterinary Association (BVA).

Membership is open to any veterinary surgeon in Devon or neighbouring counties, even if not a member of the BVA.

Many vets take a practice membership option to enroll all the employees in their practice.
