A Clinical Reasoning Approach to Pigs for the Non-Pig-Vet - Zoom Recording
This is a recording of the CPD session run on Wednesday 26th November 2025
Online talk by Claire Scott BVetMed PhD MRCVS FHEA. Claire qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2018 and spent two years working in pig practice. She then completed her PhD at the University of Bristol, exploring antibiotic use on UK smallholdings. Claire is now Veterinary Lead of the Pig Expert Group for APHA, where she works to detect, investigate and characterise new and re-emerging pig related threats in Great Britain.
In this talk, we will discuss how all vets can decipher pig cases, using the clinical reasoning skills common to us all. We will also discuss how APHA diagnostic services can support vets working with pig keepers to diagnose pig diseases. This will be through interactive, case-based discussions. Please feel free to bring your piggy cases along!
