The Story of Nowzad
by Pen Farthing
Pen Farthing, a serving Royal Marine in 2006, befriended a former fighting dog whilst based on a forward operating base deep in Helmand province completely unaware that the Nowzad charity would be the legacy left behind by that one docked eared dog.
The Nowzad charity is now operating across Afghanistan and Ukraine even after a run in with the British Government during Operation Ark!
The charity provides animal welfare services in Afghanistan from our 24/7 animal hospital in Kabul including a rabies prevention programme and donkey sanctuary for former working animals. In Ukraine we are providing rabies prevention and support to shelters located near to the front lines across the east and south of the country.
9.30pm Finish
Held at Padbrook Park Hotel, Cullompton, EX15 1RU
