Practical equine lameness CPD session by Chris Owens BVSc MANZCVS DVSt DipACVS-LA DipECVS MRCVS. This session will include how to perform a basic lower limb nerve block and foot x-ray positioning.
Chris is an ACVS and ECVS Board Certified Equine and Large Animal Surgeon originally from Australia where he graduated from the University of Queensland. He undertook a surgical residency at Charles Sturt University. Whilst there he completed a doctorate looking at complications of surgical methods of castration and various post-operative protocols. After his time there, Chris worked in a racehorse focused surgical practice in Toowoomba, Queensland, before moving to Bristol where he joined Bristol University Teaching Hospital, Langford. In 2020, Chris relocated to Exeter and established South West Equine Referral Practice at Nutwell Estate where he leads the clinical team.
